Rep. Wale Raji

The assessment followed a meeting on Monday, September 23, between Rep. Wale Raji and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police at the Police Headquarters. The visit, which was ordered by the Lagos Police Chief, was met with enthusiasm by both local residents and police officers.

“The rapid response from the Commissioner of Police in sending a team to assess the site shows the commitment to enhancing security in Epe,” said Otunba Olusesi, Senior Legislative Aide to Rep. Wale Raji. “The land, known as ‘Oke-Oyinbo’ or ‘The White Man’s Hill,’ is free of disputes and has been a recognized location since the colonial era.”

The inspection team from Lagos was led by CSP Oluwatosin Ozor, Officer in Charge of Works. CSP Benjamin Ayeni, Epe Division DPO; Eredo LCDA Supervisor for Works, Hon. Tope Odeyemi and Mr. Hassan Bashir, SLA to Rep. Wale Raji. They all expressed satisfaction with the land’s suitability, with Mr. Bashir noting, “This site is more than adequate for the proposed facility, and possibly even for a police barracks.”

Olusesi further emphasized the strong collaboration between state and federal governments in bolstering security in the rapidly developing Epe area, saying, “The existing facility needs the support of this new prototype building to meet the growing demands.”

The successful site assessment marks a significant step forward in the collaborative efforts to enhance security infrastructure in Epe, promising a safer future for the rapidly growing community.
