Teacher Assaulted by Soldier in Epe Alleges Threat to Life, Pleads for Transfer Amidst Safety Concerns..

In a harrowing account of brutality and fear for his life, Kakalistiq.com reports that a secondary school teacher at Community Senior Academy, Odo-Ayandelu, Emehinola Moses Olanrewaju, narrated a chilling encounter with a soldier that left him traumatized and desperate for a transfer from his current workplace.

The incident unfolded earlier in the day during his commute from Odo-Ragunshin to Odo-Ayandelu in Agbowa, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. Recounting the ordeal in a viral post via Whatsapp and Facebook, the teacher described encountering a policeman near Ketu, whom he assisted by transporting to a checkpoint in the Ererufu area before continuing his journey.

However, his day took a terrifying turn when he encountered a soldier clad in camouflage attire. Upon declining the soldier’s request for a lift, the teacher found himself pursued by an army van summoned by the soldier. In a heart-stopping moment, the soldier mounted the teacher’s motorcycle and directed him back to where other soldiers were stationed.

Once there, the teacher was subjected to humiliating treatment and forced to sit on the ground before being commanded to bend over with palms on the ground while the soldier administered corporal punishment akin to that of a child. Despite the teacher’s pleas, identifying himself as an educator rushing to school, the soldier berated him with derogatory language and threats of detainment and even death, asserting his impunity as a trained killer.

Feeling utterly helpless and at the mercy of the uniformed assailant, the teacher lamented the absence of refuge and the looming threat to his life. Even as one soldier acknowledged the violation of his human rights, the teacher feared that any attempt to seek justice could lead to further peril, with the possibility of his demise being concealed without a trace.

Expressing exhaustion and a profound sense of danger in his daily commute, the teacher implored authorities for an immediate transfer, specifically requesting redeployment to Epe for his safety and peace of mind.

The chilling account sheds light on the vulnerability faced by civilians at the hands of those entrusted with security, underscoring the urgent need for accountability and measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens of the Nigerian government.

  1. What! What an abuse of power! This would be a dishonour to the teaching profession if nothing is done. Proper investigation should be made into the matter and justice served accordingly.
Teaching authorities at all levels should ensure that this colleague gets justice otherwise we should expect something worse in no distance time
