One of Nigeria’s highly revered monarchs has projected positive hopes for Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation in the new year under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In an exclusive New Year’s Day interview at his residence in Ibonwon, Kakalistiq.com reports that Oba Dr. Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom in Epe Lagos, expressed gratitude for the dawn of 2024 and extended thanks on behalf of the nation, acknowledging the collective efforts of leaders working towards a renewed hope.

Highlighting the palpable winds of change sweeping across the nation, Oba Ogunsanwo assured that positive transformations would soon manifest for the populace, urging Nigerians to remain patient and resilient and placing their hope in divine intervention for Nigeria’s impending developmental turnaround.

The Alara of Ilara Kingdom expressed confidence in Asiwaju’s leadership, asserting that by the end of the second quarter of 2024, the nation would begin to enjoy the fruits of the administration’s efforts. He particularly emphasized the significant boost in the energy and power sector, citing developments in oil and gas, including the operational Port Harcourt refinery and the impending activity at the Dangote refinery.

Asserting trust in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic team, Oba Ogunsanwo commended individuals like Mr. Wale Edun, Mr. Temi Cardoso, and Mr. Razak Adedeji, as well as entities like the CBN and the FIRS, expressing belief in their capabilities to transform critical sectors of the economy.

Addressing humanitarian efforts, the monarch praised the humanitarian ministry for caring for the downtrodden and positioning it to bring about positive change for Nigerians in emergency need. He urged Lagosians, Nigerians, and everyone to exercise patience, emphasizing a hopeful future under the current administration.

“I want to urge Lagosians, Nigerians, and everybody else to be patient with this government. There’s light at the end of the tunnel, and I pray that the Almighty God will be and abide with all of us,” he prayed.

Not overlooking the achievements of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State, Oba Ogunsanwo lauded the governor’s commitment to all-inclusive development. He congratulated the governor on the inauguration of the Blue Rail and anticipated the upcoming Red Rail, acknowledging the positive impact of decentralized energy sector initiatives on industrial growth.

“He’s been going around to ensure an all-inclusive development in Lagos. I congratulate him on the epochal inauguration of the blue rail and I’m sure the Red rail will come up in a couple of months. In road construction, he’s been fantastic. As for the energy sector, which has been decentralized for states to participate in, I believe that’s an avenue for industries to thrive. I wish him and his team well,” he stated.
