kakalistiq.com reports that the Stallion Circle Club of Epe has commended the Federal Government and Lagos State Government for upgrading the Epe General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre.
In a press release signed by its President, Alhaji Debo Abdulai and its General Secretary, Alhaji Nuhman Edu, the club noted that the upgrade will afford the indigenes and residents of Epe division access to a first class healthcare which the Federal Medical Centre is expected to be.
The club also noted that the Federal Medical Centre will not only be of benefit to the good
people of the division but also to residents of neighbouring towns like ljebu Ode and Ikorodu.
The club while commending the efforts of the Lagos State Government, Mr Babajide
Sanwoolu, Minister of Health, State, Dr Tunji Alausa and the Representative member, Hon
Wale Raji in bringing this hospital into reality particularly appreciated the fact that the Federal Medical Centre will have a School of Nursing and a School dedicated to alternative medicine.
“It is worth noting that the accompanying School of Nursing (which begins admission next year) and the Federal College of Complementary and Alternative Medicine to be established in Ilara-Igboye will enable our sons and daughters to enlarge their opportunities in different fields and also
offering them a platform for employment,” the club noted.
While urging indigenes of Epe to make maximum use of these opportunities, the Stallion Circle Club of Epe particularly thanked Dr Tunji Alausa, the minister of state for health, a son of
the soil, who used his good offices to facilitate this hospital for his people.
The Stallion Circle has therefore recommended to other sons and daughters of Epe who are in positions of influence
to also facilitate things to the town to improve its social and economic standards.
Meanwhile the club enjoined the State and Federal Government to properly handle the
transition processes of the staff of former Epe General Hospital who may wish to transfer their services to the Federal Government.
The Stallion Club also used the opportunity to call the attention of the government to the deplorable electricity situation in Epe central which has been in the dark for many months.
The club said it may be counter-productive for the town which will start witnessing
many more visitors due to the opportunities offered by the Federal Medical Centre to remain in the dark.
