In a bid to address the pressing challenges facing Nigeria’s livestock sector, kakalistiq.com reports that Rep. Wale Raji, Chairman of the House Committee on Livestock Development, held an interactive session with representatives of the Feed Industry Practitioners Associations of Nigeria.

The delegation, led by Dr. Ayoola Oduntan (National President), Mr. Godwin Egbebe (National Secretary), and Toromade Francis (Director General) in Abuja on Thursday 6th February 2025, engaged in discussions aimed at securing government intervention to revitalize the sector and align it with national development policies.

Speaking on the significance of the meeting, Rep. Raji emphasized the crucial role of sustainable livestock policies in boosting food security, job creation, and economic growth. “This engagement reaffirms the government’s commitment to ensuring a thriving livestock industry through strategic policies and partnerships. A well-structured intervention in this sector will not only enhance productivity but also stabilize market prices and empower local farmers,” he stated.
He further highlighted ongoing efforts by the government to implement programs supporting sustainable livestock operations, including improved access to credit facilities, research-based innovations, and infrastructural development.
Dr. Oduntan expressed deep appreciation to Rep. Raji for facilitating the session and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to advancing the livestock sector. “With continued collaboration and government support in critical areas such as feed production, regulatory reforms, and capacity building, we are optimistic about the sector’s future,” he noted.
