This followed a high-level facility assessment visit by the Director General of ITF, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, in company with Rep. Raji and other stakeholders, today in Agbowa, Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos.

Speaking after the inspection, an evidently delighted Rep. Wale Raji described the moment as a turning point for grassroots empowerment, linking the move to the renewed hope agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) initiative.

“With this type of proactiveness on the part of the DG of ITF, the renewal of hope is assured by Mr. President is already here and we’re already feeling it,” Rep. Raji remarked.

Rep. Raji further expressed deep appreciation to the ITF leadership for responding swiftly to his call for collaboration, highlighting that the vocational center, originally facilitated by him, was designed to serve as a hub for vocational training and upskilling.

“We had only just spoken in Abuja on Thursday, and by today, the DG made good on his word and flew into Lagos for a first-hand assessment. That shows commitment, and I must commend him. We’ve taken a decision here and now to transfer this facility to the ITF, what remains is documentation,” he revealed.

Rep. Raji emphasized that the center will not only cater to fresh trainees but also serve as an upskilling ground for existing artisans to refine their craft and remain competitive in today’s dynamic labour market.

The DG praised Rep. Wale Raji’s proactive approach and described the center as a model training hub, ideally suited for the SUPA (Skill-Up Artisans) initiative, a flagship program of the Tinubu-led administration focused on skilling and reskilling Nigerian youths for economic independence and national productivity.
