Alhaja Fatimah Olanrewaju: A Mother’s Enduring Legacy Celebrated in Grand Style in Epe.

The life and legacy of Alhaja Fatimah Amope Olanrewaju were radiantly celebrated in Epe, as a gathering of family, community leaders, and well-wishers came together to honor a woman whose greatest accomplishment was the love she gave.

The eighth-day Fridau prayer, held at her residence in Oloja Estate, drew a profound sense of respect. The President-General of the League of Imams in Epe Division, Fadeelat Sheikh Abiola Aliru Sadallah, led the Islamic rites, offering prayers for the repose of her soul.

Imam Sadallah remembered the late Alhaja as “a loving, very accommodating, highly resourceful woman and a good Mother, who trained her children very well morally, religiously and formally.” He noted this was evident in the dignified positions her children hold today and offered a specific prayer “that she will not be found missing on the day Almighty Allah has ordained to reward all His lovers and followers.”

In a brief lecture, Professor Nosirudeen Olajide Onibon reflected on the meaning of a life well-lived. He reminded everyone, “To die is human, because the only way to escape death is not to be born into this world. Therefore, live a life of good impact.” He urged the congregation to look beyond worldly possessions, stressing, “Your good deeds and obedience to Almighty Allah, is the only requirement for your home hereafter.”

The following day, the celebration of her well-fulfilled life continued at Jubilee Chalet. The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including political leaders from across Lagos State, showcasing the wide reach of her family’s positive influence.

Through it all, her son, Alhaji Ahmad Olanrewaju, gave voice to a family’s personal loss. He revealed that he would miss his mother greatly, “because she lived a very peaceful, impactful, religious, loving and caring life.” With a heart full of gratitude, he later appreciated everyone who rallied round the family to give her a befitting farewell, a final tribute to a mother whose joy radiated through all who knew her.
