In a heartwarming celebration of academic brilliance, Kakalistiq.com reports that four outstanding students from Pobuna Grammar School, Poka, Epe, were bestowed with the prestigious Aladeshonyin Scholarship Award on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024.
The benevolent gesture, sponsored by the Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, Epe Division, HRM Oba Dr. Babatunde Ogunlaja JP, FMBE, aimed to recognize and support the exceptional academic achievements of the students.
During the award presentation in his palace, Oba Ogunlaja stressed the importance of rewarding academic excellence, expressing the need to inspire students to strive for more while offering relief to their parents, particularly in the current economic climate. He encouraged the recipients to view the scholarship as an opportunity to work harder and excel in their studies.
“The selection process was meticulous and very transparent. We selected the best students through a rigorous evaluation, and those chosen by the school authority truly deserve this scholarship. The selected students, Abubakri Nimot (JSS3), Adeyemi Bethany (JSS2), Adenuga David (SS1), and Soliat Ogundeko (SS2), along with their delighted teachers, radiated joy and gratitude towards the monarch. In response to the kind gesture, the recipients pledged to redouble their efforts in their studies to continue benefiting from the monarch’s benevolence.
Parents, Mr. Adenuga Seun, Mrs. Abubakri Adejoke, Mrs. Adeyemi Maria, and Mrs. Ogundeko Olamiji, expressed their profound appreciation for the king’s generosity and urged their children not to relent in their academic pursuits.
