kakalistiq.com reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Epe Local Government Area (LGA) has called for renewed dedication and resilience among party members to secure greater political and democratic dividends for grassroots development. This call was made during the party’s LGA meeting held at the Epe Secretariat on Thursday, November 21, 2014, sponsored by Epe LG Chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including ward chairmen and party executives from all nine wards in Epe LGA, to discuss governance, political strength and developmental strides in the community.
In his opening address, Epe LGA Chairman, Hon. Toyin Gbadamosi, lauded the efforts of political leaders and appointees, emphasizing their role in advancing the socioeconomic and political growth of Epe.
“The exceptional governance we have witnessed is evident in the developmental projects across our LGA. From health interventions to road, education and youth development programs from Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Rep. Wale Raji and Hon. Abiodun Tobun. Particularly on the philanthropic support for victims of the Aiyetoro Market accident, Princess Surah Animashaun has set an enviable standard,” he said.
Hon. Gbadamosi highlighted the chairman’s regular empowerment initiatives, including monthly support for 20 party members, and urged members to maintain their commitment to the party.
“Let us stay resilient and prepared. To benefit from federal social programs, members must ensure they possess active bank accounts, BVN, and NIN. These steps are essential for seizing opportunities,” he added.
State Welfare Secretary of APC Lagos, Hon. Kehinde Adeniyi, commended the effective leadership exemplified by Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi and Divisional Party Leader (GAC member) Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu which has brought about immense growth and stability.
He lauded the legislative achievements of Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Rep. Wale Raji, and Hon. Abiodun Tobun, describing them as transformative for Epe LGA. “Our leaders have shown remarkable dedication, and Princess Surah Animashaun’s performance underscores her worthiness for a second term. Her commitment to grassroots empowerment is exemplary,” Adeniyi noted, referencing her impactful budget stakeholder engagements.
He also encouraged regular attendance at party meetings, emphasizing that consistent participants stand better chances for state and federal opportunities.
“The youth leader must step up mobilization efforts. A strong youth presence is critical to the party’s growth,” he added.
Responding to members’ concerns, Hon. Toyin Gbadamosi assured the audience that their needs would be addressed. He urged patience, noting that empowerment programs require time to reach everyone.
“Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to the party. Progress and development take time, but the benefits will surely come,” he said, citing ongoing infrastructure and employment initiatives.
In his vote of thanks, Party Secretary Hon. Ajisefini Ajibola expressed gratitude to the attendees and reiterated the party’s broader benefits beyond financial rewards, including infrastructural developments, employment, bursaries, and scholarships.
“Our community has witnessed remarkable infrastructure improvements, thanks to our leaders. However, I urge everyone to remain vigilant in protecting public assets, especially energy infrastructure, against theft and vandalism,” he remarked.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment among APC members in Epe LGA, as they pledged to support the party’s vision for a more prosperous future.
