_Osinaike pledges innovation and teamwork as outgoing education chief urges continued support for sustained excellence_
In a symbolic ceremony held at the Falomo Headquarters on Tuesday, Prince Segun Osinaike officially resumed office as the new Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District III, Lagos State.
The brief but impactful handover event was marked by the presence of dignitaries and education stakeholders, including Mr. Olufemi Paseda, TG/PS of Education District IV, and Mrs. Anike Adekanye, retired TG/PS of District II. Representatives from the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and the District III Parents’ Forum also graced the occasion, reflecting broad support across the education ecosystem.
The new TG/PS, Prince Osinaike, who was redeployed by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in him.
“Today marks a new chapter, not just for me, but for every school, every teacher, and every student in Education District III. I come with a heart to serve and a mind ready to innovate. Together, we’ll make excellence not just a goal, but our standard,” Osinaike declared in his inaugural address. “Together, we will build on the strong foundation of this district and drive impactful transformation through teamwork, creativity, and unwavering dedication to excellence.”
He emphasized a leadership vision centered on collaboration, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes in teaching and learning across the district.
The outgoing TG/PS, Dr. Olufunke Idowu, now reassigned to Education District IV, received accolades for her transformative leadership and dedication to educational advancement. In her farewell speech, Dr. Idowu extended her heartfelt gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for his “visionary leadership and unwavering commitment” to strengthening Lagos State’s education system.
“To our incoming TG/PS, I say a warm welcome,” she said. “Education District III is a place of excellence, powered by diligent staff, passionate educators, and determined students. I’m confident my dedicated colleague and good brother, Mr. Osinaike will take it even higher.”
Dr. Idowu also thanked her team for the unflinching support she received, highlighting notable milestones achieved during her tenure. She urged continued unity and cooperation under the new leadership to ensure sustained progress and innovation.
Members of staff, school principals, and education officers gathered in the District’s Conference Room to offer their warm reception to the new TG/PS. Their messages were united: optimism, readiness to support, and a shared commitment to advancing the Governor’s vision of a technology-driven and high-performing education sector.
