Education Luminaries Unite in Tribute: Alhaja Adebanjo Leads Farewell to Mother Amidst Grand Gathering in Epe

The education elite of Lagos State converged at the Rev. Tunde Braithwaite Anglican Church open ground, infusing joyous reflections into the 8th-day final prayers for Alhaja Princess Lateefat Abdulahi (Logun), mother of the esteemed Alhaja M.A. Adebanjo, Principal of Lagos State Senior Model College, Agbowa, Ikosi-Ejinrin Lagos State.

Guiding the poignant fidau prayers and lecture was Dr. Morufudeen Shittu, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), who offered heartfelt assurances of Jannah for the departed soul.

The event boasted a stellar guest list, including High Chief Oriyomi Ayeola, President of the Cooperative Federation of Nigeria (CFN) and International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) Africa, and Dr. Yinka Ayandele, former Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District III and presently Governing Council Member of Lagos State University of Education, who added a magnificent flair to the occasion.

Others include the Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Alhaja Adijat Hassan, and former Lagos NUT State Executive and Principal, Lekki Community Senior High School, Comrade Wasiu Ayeola.

The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) Epe branch, led by Comrade Sanni Shakiru, along with elders Elder Agboola and Comrade Ogunleye, graced the gathering with their vibrant presence, honoring the memory of Alhaja Princess Lateefat.

In solidarity with Alhaja Adebanjo, Mr. Akinrinmade led a distinguished troop of principals under the All Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS).

Dr. Otuniyi, in his address, lauded Alhaja Lateefat’s unwavering commitment to Islam, highlighting her resilience as a mother who dutifully fulfilled her obligations despite her husband’s demise. He commended her mosque-building project, urging continued support for its completion.

Alhaja M.A. Adebanjo, speaking about her mother, described her as an epitome of dedication and compassion, fostering family stability and contributing to the development of Islam.

Overwhelmed by the turnout of guests from far and near, Alhaja M.A. Adebanjo on behalf of her siblings expressed profound gratitude, stating, “My gratitude knows no bounds, and I’m excited to receive this show of love and support from each and everyone.”
