Epe Youths Urged to Embrace Selfless Service, Nation-Building at Annual Ramadan Lecture.

Kakalistiq.com reports that youths in Epe have been encouraged to play a vital role in nation-building during the Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Branch.

Held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Epe Local Government Chamber, the event centered on the theme: *”Spirit of Selfless Service to Build a Stronger Nation.”*

The Guest Lecturer, Fadeelat Sheikh Ahmad, Founder of Vanguards Academy, drew inspiration from the newly adopted Nigerian National Anthem, urging young people to strive for a nation free from oppression and symbolized by a “stainless flag.”

Quoting from the Holy Qur’an, Sheikh Ahmad emphasized the importance of selfless service, urging youths to let the fear of Allah guide their actions and interactions with others. He also reminded attendees of their responsibilities as Muslims, both during and after the holy month of Ramadan.

Echoing these sentiments, the Vice-Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe, called for a consistent commitment to righteous living. “Ramadan should not be the only time we shun sinful acts,” he stated. “It should be a daily practice. If we can avoid wrongdoing during this fasting period, we should strive to do so forever.”

Comrade Moibi Ibrahim, Coordinator of NYCN Epe Branch, highlighted the significance of Ramadan as a month of holiness, greatness, and success. He urged youths to apply the lessons learned during Ramadan to their daily lives, emphasizing the need for self-reliance, confidence, and dedication. “With the challenges facing our nation, it is crucial for young people to be independent and committed to their work,” he said.

The event served as a rallying cry for Epe’s youth to embrace selfless service, uphold moral values, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.
