Excitement as Anomo Swears In 6th Legislative Council, Appoints Jayesimi (Gberefu) as Chief of Staff. 

kakalistiq.com reports that it was a day of double celebration in Agbowa on Thursday, July 31, 2025, as the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, marked the beginning of his second term in office with two major milestones: the inauguration of the 6th Legislative Council and the appointment of a new Chief of Staff.

Held at the Council Secretariat, the event drew together traditional rulers, political heavyweights, community leaders, and excited residents, all gathered to witness a new era of legislative and executive leadership in the LCDA.

In his opening address, Chairman Anomo officially declared the new legislative council inaugurated and encouraged the councillors to remain committed to their core duty of public service. “As we begin this new chapter, let us remember that we have been called to serve. Our victories at the poll were not trophies, but mandates. I assure our people that this second term will consolidate our earlier gains and bring even more dividends of democracy to Ikosi-Ejinrin,” Anomo stated.

In the spirit of continuity and experience, Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi (Ward E2) was re-elected as Leader of the House, while Hon. Ganiyu Selim Oluwaseun (Ward F1) was announced as Deputy Leader. Other key legislative leaders include: Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi, Leader of the House; Hon. Ganiyu Selim Oluwaseun, Deputy Leader; Hon. Oluwo Martins Oriyomi, Majority Leader; Hon. Adesanya Shakirat Adeyinka, Chief Whip; Hon. Ajayi Olumide Samuel, Deputy Majority Leader and Hon. Disu Opeyemi Adebajo, Deputy Chief Whip.

In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Owolabi promised to lead a “responsive, accountable, and people-oriented” House that would work in harmony with the Executive Arm for the benefit of all constituents.

Adding to the excitement of the day, Hon. Jayesimi Ibraheem (Gberefu) was officially appointed and sworn in as Chief of Staff, the first appointment of Anomo’s second term. Described as a strategic and symbolic pick, Jayesimi’s reputation for loyalty, grassroots engagement, and administrative skill made his selection widely applauded. “His appointment will no doubt strengthen the engine room of this administration and improve the coordination of people-centered governance,” Anomo noted during the presentation of the appointment letter.

The ceremonies were graced by a host of dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, former Lagos Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jokotola Pelumi, Hon. Wasiu Odeyemi (WASTAB), former council top brass: Hon. Olusegun Adetola and Hon. Samson Onanuga, Otunba Nurudeen Yusuf, and popular Nollywood actors Sola Kosoko and Foluke Daramola, among others.

As the 6th Council hits the ground running, and with a new Chief of Staff now in office, residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA are hopeful for a future of responsive governance, legislative strength, and grassroots development.
