Ibeju-Lekki Youth Celebrate Landmark Diving Tech Bill, Thank Leaders for Support.

The Ibeju-Lekki Youth Ambassadors have commended their leaders for championing a groundbreaking bill that could reshape the future of Nigeria’s Blue Economy.

In a statement by Comrade Ogunbanwo Ibrahim, the State Treasurer of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos, the group expressed gratitude to the member representing Ibeju-Lekki federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Bayo Balogun, highlighting his supportive efforts.
They praised his dedication to progress, particularly his sponsorship of the bill to establish the Federal Institute for Diving Technology in Ibeju-Lekki, a move they described as visionary.

The bill, which recently advanced to its second reading in the House of Representatives, marks a significant milestone for the region. The Youth Ambassadors also lauded Hon. Balogun for empowering seven young constituents to add a youth voice to the bill at the National Assembly, calling it “true youth inclusion.”

Beyond Hon. Balogun’s efforts, the group extended appreciation to other key stakeholders, including: Hon. Oladele Ajayi (Lagos State House of Assembly, Ibeju-Lekki Constituency II); Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola (Chief Whip, Lagos State House of Assembly, Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I); Hon. Abdulkabir Ogungbo (SA to Lagos Governor on Taxation and Revenue) and Hon. Abiola Olowu (SA to Lagos Governor on Energy and Mineral Resources). Others include Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa (Ibeju-Lekki LG Chairman); Hon. Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (Lekki LCDA Chairman) and Alhaji Shonaike Omolola Idris (Youth Advocate).

The Youth Ambassadors also thanked families, friends, and supporters for their prayers and encouragement, calling the bill’s progress a “collective triumph” for Ibeju-Lekki.

As the bill moves closer to a public hearing, optimism grows among the youth, who see this as a major step toward economic empowerment and technological advancement in the region.
