King Saheed Osupa to Headline Papa Youth Day Fiesta as Epe Quarters Roll Out Week-Long Celebrations.

Epe is set for a vibrant cultural and youth-driven celebration as veteran Fuji music icon, King Saheed Osupa, headlines the grand finale of the Papa Youth Day Fiesta on January 2.

The multi-day programme, drawing participation from quarters such as Surulere, Ajegunle, Kajola, Olafenwa, Igbodile and Ayegbami, kicked off on Wednesday, December 24, with a Youth Sanitation Day aimed at promoting community hygiene and responsibility across Papa axis of Epe.

 

Activities lined up for the fiesta include sports, games and entertainment. The Under-15 inter-quarter football competition climaxed on Sunday, December 28, at Salako Field, where Ayegbami/Olafenwa quarters emerged champions after defeating Ajegunle quarters.

 

Other highlights include the final of novelty games such as ludo and draft, with winners carting away cash prizes, while ASA Night holds on December 29 at Peace and Unity Night Club, adding nightlife flair to the celebrations.

The grand finale on January 2 will begin with a Muslim prayer session by 8:00am at Kasali Oluwo Street, followed by the distribution of cash and food palliatives. The evening will feature the Miss Papa Beauty Pageant, a fund-raising drive for the Papa Youth Secretariat, as well as the presentation of awards and honorary titles to distinguished personalities.

According to the Association’s publicity secretary, Mr. Giwa Kehinde, expected dignitaries include Hon. Abiodun Tobun as Chairman of the Day, the Oloja of Epe as Royal Father of the Day, Princess Surah Olayemi as Matron, and Chief Gafaru Orimipe (Bale of Mejono) as Patron. Special guests anticipated are Rep. Wale Raji (MHR), Chief Oluwo (Odofin of Epe Land), Hon. Hammed Seriki (Commissioner Lagos State Local Government Service Commission), Mr. and Mrs. Ogoji, the Onirete of Irete Land, Hon. Rasheed Oluwo (Councillor, Ward A6), and members of the Epe Local Government Legislative Council, all set to witness a fitting climax with King Saheed Osupa thrilling the crowd.
