The Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute (NIBRRI) has given a satisfactory rating to the school projects facilitated by Rep. Wale Raji, Member of the House of Representatives for Epe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, following an impact assessment tour of selected schools on Monday, October 20, 2025.
The NIBRRI delegation, led by Impact Assessor Mr. John Alabi, alongside Otunba Wale Olusesi and Mr. Kaka Babatunde, Senior Legislative Aides on Infrastructure and Media & Youth Affairs respectively, visited Ilege, Akodo-Ise, and Ilara communities to evaluate the outcomes of the lawmaker’s educational interventions.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Alabi described the exercise as successful, noting that stakeholders’ feedback reflected a positive impact.
“The assessment is satisfactory. We did our job successfully and we were able to have good feedback. The fact that they enjoy and like the project is the basis of our remarks. We met with the stakeholders and the fact that they asked for more pleased us,” he said.
The inspection covered key educational facilities facilitated by Rep. Raji, including two blocks of six classrooms with toilets and a solar-powered borehole at Ilege Community Junior Secondary School; a block of three classrooms at UPE Primary School, Akodo-Ise; and two blocks of three classrooms at Adesowon Secondary School, Ilara, all fully furnished and functional.
Beyond infrastructure, the NIBRRI team gathered feedback from administrators and teachers on the projects’ broader impact on the learning environment and community development.
At Adesowon Senior Secondary School, Principal Mr. Olaniyi Thomas commended the intervention, explaining that the new classrooms have created more space for laboratory practicals. Similarly, Mrs. Amsat Agnes said, “The buildings have become spaces for teaching and the students can be shared according to science, commercial and arts where teachers teach and get familiar with their students.”
She added that merging all departments for teaching “has become a thing of the past.”

At UPE Primary School, Akodo-Ise, Mr. Shakiru Agbaje noted that student enrollment had risen from 60 to over 100 due to the new structures, adding that, “The ocean surge would have denied young children access to primary education and the intervention of the Lawmaker and NIBRRI have been swift and instant.”
In Ilege Community Junior Secondary School, the representative of the Principal, Mr. Sanusi, emphasized that the solar-powered borehole and toilets have greatly improved comfort in the learning environment. In the same vein, Mrs. Osiyemi Christiana commended the project’s community impact, saying,
“Many joyful parents from Magbon-Segun, Imobido, Tiye whose children were admitted far from their communities get redeployed because of the closeness of the school.” She added that,
“The free uniform provided by the Lawmaker has become an incentive for enrollment.”
Students of Ilege Community Junior Secondary School also expressed appreciation to Rep. Wale Raji for the intervention, acknowledging that the establishment of the school within their community has reduced transportation costs and physical stress while the free uniforms further motivated attendance.
While applauding the achievements, school administrators appealed for additional support in the areas of ICT facilities for CBT, laptops, photocopiers, additional classrooms, furniture, solar power or generator supply, file cabinets, and a security post.
Concluding the tour, the NIBRRI team affirmed that the projects have significantly advanced educational development in Epe Federal Constituency, reinforcing Rep. Wale Raji’s commitment to expanding access to quality education through targeted infrastructure investments.
