Olayinka Oladunjoye Mourns Pioneer Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Akintola.

Barrister Olayinka Oladunjoye, the National Population Commission (NPC) Commissioner representing Lagos State, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Ganiyu Adio Akintola, the pioneer Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), describing him as “a truly great man, a beloved father figure, political leader, educator, and community development champion.”

In a heartfelt condolence message released on Sunday, Oladunjoye said the news of Alhaji Akintola’s death came as “a shock,” noting that while “heaven gained a wonderful soul, the earth lost a truly great man.”

Reflecting on his legacies, the Lagos NPC Commissioner said her “heart is heavy,” but her “spirit rejoices in the testimony of a life well-lived, a life marked by impact, service, and love.” She added that as “a teacher, permanent secretary, and politician, he touched countless lives and left indelible footprints in the sands of time,” describing his death as “a colossal loss to us all.”

Oladunjoye praised the late Akintola’s “resilience, humility, and dedication to the service of Epe, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, and Lagos State at large,” recalling his “selflessness, exemplary leadership, and role model qualities that inspired many of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.”

She extended her condolences to “his dear wife, children, and all the loved ones he left behind,” praying that “the Almighty grant them the strength to bear this great loss and grant his noble soul eternal rest.”
