kakalistiq.com reports that the Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State at the National Population Commission (NPC), Barrister Olayinka Oladunjoye, has joined the good people of Epe and other well-meaning Nigerians in mourning the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Shefiu Adewale Bamgbopa Eshilokun I, the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, describing his death as a monumental loss not just to Epe Lagos State, but to the entire nation.

In a heartfelt condolence statement, Oladunjoye expressed deep sorrow over the demise of a revered traditional ruler, whom she described as a “highly influential father figure” and a beacon of wisdom, cultural preservation, and national service.
“This is not just the loss of a king,” she said. “It is the loss of a father, a mentor, and a bridge between tradition and modern governance. Kabiyesi’s passing leaves a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.”

Barrister Oladunjoye extended her deepest sympathies to the grieving wife of the monarch, Olori Alhaja Aribike Adewale, and her children. She offered prayers for divine strength and comfort during this period of mourning, urging the royal family to remain steadfast in their faith.
“I pray Almighty Allah continues to uphold Olori Aribike and the children. I encourage her to cling to her unshakeable faith in God, knowing that her beloved husband has gone to rest after living an impactful life, one marked by integrity, discipline, and selfless service to Lagos, the nation, and his people,” she said.
Reflecting on the late monarch’s years in public service, particularly in the Lagos State, Oladunjoye commended his unwavering discipline and moral uprightness, qualities she said left a lasting impression on many.
“Even before ascending the throne, Kabiyesi was a man of great principles, admired by his colleagues and subordinates alike. As a traditional ruler, he was a reservoir of knowledge and a proud custodian of our rich cultural heritage. His wisdom will be sorely missed,” she added.
The Commissioner offered prayers for the repose of the monarch’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljanat Fridaos.
