Rep. Wale Raji

During his goodwill message, Raji commended the councillors, the local government excos and supervisors for their dedication, urging them to maintain their diligent efforts. “Continue in that spirit,” he remarked, acknowledging their support in executing key projects.

He emphatically stressed the need for collaboration among all the three tiers of government – local, state and federal in achieving the primary purpose of government which is the welfare and security lives and properties. In addition, he assured the Chairman of his support in developing the Epe local government.

He further highlighted the recent efforts of the youth council committee on electricity, noting that power had been restored to some areas just a day earlier. While recognizing this as a temporary fix, Raji expressed his commitment to finding a more sustainable solution. “The issue of electricity is now on the concurrent legislative list, and we will explore permanent measures to address the energy crisis,” he assured.

Raji lauded Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of State for Health, for his passionate representation of Epe and Lagos State at the national level. “We are fortunate to have someone who is deeply committed to our community’s interest in the federal executive council,” he said, adding that recent discussions with the minister signaled further efforts to improve local infrastructure.

Addressing the need for enhanced security, Raji announced plans to build a modern police station in Epe. “We are giving Epe a new, state-of-the-art police station,” he declared.

“The final documentation with the Inspector General of Police will be sorted in two weeks, and we will proceed with the groundbreaking ceremony.”

He emphasized that Epe’s development is a collective effort, calling for closer cooperation between leaders. “No one can achieve development alone. We must improve consultations and act swiftly on issues as they arise,” Raji urged.

Raji stressed the imperatives for coordinated approach to infrastructure development to prevent duplication of efforts. He further mentioned that more federal projects would bring significant relief to the local government, citing the example of about 400 new shops being built at Aiyetoro. “These will be allocated to residents at no cost, with the LG benefiting from ticketing for revenue generation.”

Raji closed his remarks with a call for unity. “Let’s work together for the betterment of our people. The more we collaborate, the greater Epe will become,” he concluded, reiterating his commitment to fostering a brighter future for the community.
