In a bold move to improve the state of education in Epe Division, kakalistiq.com reports that the Federation of Epe Division Students Association (FEDSA) has launched its much-anticipated Educational Support Initiative.
At the helm of the drive is Comrade Ibrahim Adesanya, who, alongside his team, is calling on local government chairmen in Ibeju-Lekki to take immediate action in addressing the critical state of schools in the area.
While acknowledging the efforts made by local government leaders in areas like infrastructure and social services, FEDSA is pressing for more focused attention on the education sector. “We applaud the chairmen for their work, but now is the time to dig deeper. We call on them to conduct surveys of the schools, identify the urgent needs, and ensure our students have the conducive environments they deserve,” Adesanya urged.
Speaking further at the launch, Adesanya emphasized the importance of creating better learning environments for the students. “We’ve seen first-hand the challenges students face—leaking roofs, broken chairs, and unsanitary conditions. It’s not just about education; it’s about the well-being of the future generation,” he said.
The initiative, which provides essential learning materials to primary and secondary school students, was born out of FEDSA’s deep commitment to giving back to the community. “Our experience as former students of these schools has inspired this urgent call to action. The need for better infrastructure and welfare for our children cannot be overstated,” Adesanya added.
During visits to Imagbon Alade Junior Secondary School and Roman Catholic Primary School in Olomowewe, the youth body donated books and supplies to eager students. The principals and teachers at both institutions expressed gratitude, welcoming the much-needed resources with open arms.
Among the distinguished guests was Hon. Balogun Aminat, a member of the Lagos State Youth Parliament, who commended the students’ resilience and encouraged them to make good use of the materials provided. “You are the future of this community. Let these resources empower you to excel and be ambassadors of excellence,” she urged.
Comrade Eleto Jubril, Director of Education for the National Youth Council of Nigeria’s Lekki branch, echoed this sentiment, praising FEDSA’s commitment to education. “It’s inspiring to see young leaders like this taking initiative for the betterment of their community,” he said.
The students’ federation is also inviting other organizations, stakeholders, and individuals to collaborate in supporting this noble cause. “Together, we can build a brighter future for the students of Epe Division,” Adesanya concluded.
The launch marks the beginning of what FEDSA hopes will be a transformational movement in the local education sector.
