In a historic display of visionary leadership and grassroots impact, kakalistiq.com reports that Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA became the epicenter of economic transformation on Wednesday as Executive Chairman, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, rolled out the fourth edition of the “Okoowo Anomo” SME Grant, a bold initiative injecting over N60 million directly into the local economy.

Held at the council secretariat in Agbowa, the atmosphere was electric as thousands gathered to witness what many described as a “game-changing moment” in the economic and political narrative of the LCDA. Far from the usual political fanfare, the event embodied hope, empowerment, and strategic foresight.

Initially planned to support 1,000 petty traders, the Chairman stunned the audience by increasing the number of beneficiaries to 1,200, a gesture that drew wild applause and solidified his reputation as a leader with his ears to the ground and heart in the right place.

As tradition met transformation, six royal fathers, custodians of culture and stability in the LCDA, were each presented with brand new Toyota Highlander SUVs. This grand gesture, facilitated by Alhaji Shakiru Akanni Seriki (BAMU), APC Divisional Leader and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), underscored Anomo’s inclusive governance and deep respect for traditional institutions.

In a rare show of unity and endorsement, the monarchs, Oba Rafiu Balogun (Elejinrin), Oba Asunmo Aderibigbe (Alayandelu), Oba Saheed Momson (Abowa of Agbowa), Oba Mushafau Olofin-Ajaiye (Olori-Ido), Oba Nelson Ogunlari (Olowu of Owu-Ikosi), and Oba Elias Adedapo (Olota of Otta-Ikosi), collectively declared their unflinching support for Anomo’s second-term bid. They revealed that their endorsement extended to personally purchasing his APC nomination form, citing his humility, vision, and service delivery as unmatched.

In his address, Anomo, visibly moved, expressed heartfelt gratitude to stakeholders across the LCDA. “Our mission has always been to lift as many as we can out of economic vulnerability. This is not politics; it is purpose,” he declared, reaffirming his commitment to service and pledging even more transformative dividends if re-elected.

He emphasized that “Okoowo Anomo” is not a campaign gimmick but a deeply strategic and compassionate effort to strengthen local commerce and reduce poverty. “We are simply committed to making our economy work for the people,” he added.

Speaking to journalists, several jubilant beneficiaries of the grant hailed the initiative as a lifeline. They promised to invest the funds wisely into their respective businesses and praised Anomo’s foresight, describing the grant as “a timely intervention that will stimulate trade and uplift households.” They assured that the ripple effect of this empowerment would be felt across every ward of the LCDA.

The event was not just a celebration of grants and gifts, it was a declaration of hope, a testament to purposeful governance, and a glimpse into what the future holds for Ikosi-Ejinrin under a leadership that walks the talk.
