Held at the Board’s multi-purpose hall on Tuesday, 17th September 2024, the event marks a powerful step toward a smarter, more efficient education system in the state.

As part of the vision to build a robust educational framework, Dr. Shittu emphasized ,the importance of equipping school leaders with 21st-century management techniques that align with Lagos’ evolving smart city and THEMES agenda.

“This exercise is crucial for shaping a new breed of school administrators,” Dr. Shittu noted during an exclusive interview. “By honing leadership and management skills, we are not only improving teacher productivity but also ensuring that our schools foster environments where students can thrive. This is essential for a 21st-century educational system that matches the pace of a smart Lagos.”

In a separate but related move, LASUBEB, in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), organized a five-day capacity-building workshop for Basic Education Quality Assurance Officers. The focus of the training was on effective monitoring and evaluation, a key driver for sustained improvements in learning outcomes.

Speaking on the long-term impact of the training, Dr. Shittu highlighted its alignment with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Agenda: “Through this training, we are building a foundation for excellence in education that will have lasting benefits. Quality monitoring is the backbone of accountability, and with our officers better equipped, we can ensure that every child in Lagos receives the education they deserve, setting them up for future success in a globally competitive world.”

With these capacity-building initiatives, LASUBEB is not only reshaping the landscape of education in Lagos but also fostering a culture of accountability and innovation that will serve as a model for other states.

As Lagos continues its journey toward becoming a smart city, the focus on education remains a central pillar, ensuring that both school leaders and students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
