kakalistiq.com reports that it was a day of joy, gratitude, and surprise at the 10th Constituency Stakeholders Meeting of the Lagos State House of Assembly, held yesterday at the Oshoroko-Lekki office of Hon. Themed “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda”, the gathering turned out to be more than just another political event, it became a showcase of real impact and life-changing support.

With the who’s who of local governance and royalty in attendance, from Hon. Bayo Balogun, His Excellency Alhaji Kashif Bode Oyedele, Alhaji Tunde Isiak, Hon. Abdul-Kabir Ogungbo, Hon. Abiola Okanlawon to traditional rulers like Oba Ogunbekun, Oba Lookman Arowolo, Oba Animashaun Ojomu, Oba Toheeb Abidemi Oyedele, the atmosphere was celebratory. The reason isn’t far-fetched as Over 150 constituents received ₦50,000 each to support their small businesses. That wasn’t all, empowerment tools worth millions of Naira like grinding machines, motorbikes, generators, vulcanizing machines, freezers, and sewing machines were distributed to beneficiaries across all seven wards and beyond.

“In my few years, I’ve brought a befitting police station, a very big one and it’s ongoing right now. And I think in the near future, it will transmute into an Area Command. The Jetty at Ebute Lekki was also facilitated by me. The storey building secondary school at Ebute Lekki and many others including numerous yearly empowerment programs to give back to my people,” Hon. Ajayi shared with pride in an interview.

The lawmaker didn’t just list achievements, he gave insight into his journey. He recalled giving up a secure cabinet position in 2021 to run for legislative office, a leap of faith backed by his people. “It was sanctioned by my people, who felt I was the best to lead their progress and developmental sojourn,” he said.

Rep. Bayo Balogun, in his address, described the initiative as a continuation of Hon. Ajayi’s legacy of service. “The empowerment is a good development and a strategic way of cushioning the effects of the subsidy removal,” he remarked. He further praised the synergy between the local governments and their efforts in health, education, infrastructure, and economic development.

Speaking on behalf of the royal fathers, HRM Oba Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun, the Onilekki of Lekki, applauded the lawmaker’s drive:
“The assemblage of royal fathers here is an indication of the significance of the event. This massive empowerment also shows that the lawmaker understands the needs of his constituents. It’s a good day and we’re very happy.” He urged beneficiaries to use the items for economic growth and not to sell them off.

Another party stalwart, Hon. Tunde Isiak, expressed his astonishment at the scale of the outreach:
“Hon. Oladele Ajayi has made us proud. I didn’t expect such a massive empowerment program from him. What I’ve seen here today is a testament to his capacity and dedication to serve.”

The event also served as a political rallying point. His Excellency Alhaji Bode Oyedele encouraged constituents to participate in the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card registration, emphasizing the importance of delivering votes in 2027. He also touched on safety measures being developed in collaboration with the Police, LNSC, FRSC, and others to secure lives and property on the roads.

In Ibeju-Lekki, the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan. It is, as one attendee put it, “governance in motion.”
