Osinaike Sets Tone for Operational and Administrative Priorities at Pre-Resumption Meeting.

With the new academic session on the horizon, the air at the Education District IV headquarters was abuzz with a sense of purpose. In a meeting that felt more like a strategic huddle than a formal assembly, the district’s Tutor General and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, gathered school principals to chart the course for the term ahead.

The gathering, warm yet intent, was designed to lay a firm foundation for the coming months, focusing on critical operational and administrative priorities aimed at elevating the quality of education across the district, fondly known as the ‘Blooming District.’

Addressing the room of educational leaders, Mr. Osinaike spoke of alignment and atmosphere, stressing the need to sync school operations with the broader educational goals of the state. His voice carried a tone of collaborative urgency as he stated, “This meeting is pivotal to ensuring our schools operate at the highest standards. Our focus is on creating an atmosphere where students thrive, staff are motivated, and our facilities are preserved for optimal use.”

He then mapped out a clear and practical roadmap for the academic year, detailing eight key directives. The priorities included an even redistribution of teaching staff to ensure fairness and efficiency, a renewed emphasis on professional attire for educators to model respectability, and a careful adjustment of school programs to put academic excellence first. He called for strict punctuality, the savvy use of social media for positive engagement, and heightened vigilance from principals in their daily management. The list was rounded out by a firm directive on the protection of government property and a prohibition on the unauthorized use of school facilities by external communities.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Mr. Osinaike had set a tone of appreciation and shared mission, commending the principals for their steadfast dedication. “Your commitment to nurturing the next generation is the backbone of our success as the Blooming District,” he said. “Let us continue to work collaboratively to uphold the standards of excellence that define us.” He urged them to embody these new guidelines personally, leading by example to foster a culture of unwavering discipline and responsibility.

The meeting was not merely a briefing but a dialogue. Principals seized the opportunity to voice their own insights and concerns. Mrs. Ikeade Salami raised the need for additional resources to bolster extracurricular programs and proposed a pilot mentorship initiative to tackle behavioral issues among students. Echoing the theme of protection, Mrs. Bolodeoku, Principal of Sanya Senior Grammar School, advocated for enhanced security measures to safeguard school properties after hours.

Concluding the session, the Tutor General reaffirmed the district’s steadfast commitment to the Lagos State Government’s THEMES Plus agenda, painting a picture of the future built on the pillars of quality education, discipline, and inclusivity for a greater Lagos.
