“Your Attitude Will Determine Your Altitude” – Osinaike Charges Newly Appointed Principals in Lagos.

In a bid to boost leadership and improve the quality of education, the Lagos State Education District II has officially presented letters of appointment to newly selected principals after a rigorous screening process.

The event, which took place at the District’s Conference Hall, was filled with excitement as top education stakeholders gathered to celebrate the new appointments and reaffirm their commitment to academic excellence.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Supervising Tutor General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, praised the successful candidates for their hard work and determination, describing their new roles as a “stepping stone to greater achievements.”

“Congratulations on this feat you have achieved; it is not how long, but how well. The footprints of someone who spent a short period in service could be better than those of someone who spent a longer time,” Mr. Osinaike said.

He encouraged the new school leaders to focus on integrity, staff welfare, and the overall development of students while ensuring that government efforts in education are not wasted.

“I implore you to add good character to your duties because your attitude will determine your altitude. Take good care of the welfare of your staff and students, and do not neglect your health. Ensure your teachers and students are well-dressed and that your schools have the required tools to operate. The investments of Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu must not be allowed to become futile. Create an environment conducive to learning and teaching,” he added.

Mr. Osinaike, representing Governor Sanwo-Olu and TESCOM Chairman Mrs. Mopelola Peregrino, personally handed out the appointment letters, urging the new principals to maintain high standards of professionalism and service.

Also addressing the gathering, Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Mojisola Adeyemi-Fashola, applauded the candidates for excelling in a tough selection process that included computer-based tests and oral interviews.

“I want to congratulate all of you for achieving this feat. We all went through rigorous tests and interviews, and to God be the glory, 46 out of 48 candidates came out successful,” she stated.

She further explained that 24 of the new principals will be immediately deployed to fill existing vacancies, while the rest will be assigned to schools as more positions become available in early 2026.

The newly appointed principals expressed their appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the leadership of Education District II, promising to deliver on their responsibilities through innovation, dedication, and effective school management.

This development is part of Lagos State’s ongoing commitment to strengthening school administration and raising the standard of public education across the state.
