As the world marks World Teachers’ Day 2025, the Chairman of the House Committee on Livestock Development and Member representing Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Wale Raji, has paid glowing tribute to Nigerian teachers, describing them as nation builders, moral beacons, and shapers of destinies.
In a heartfelt message issued from his office, Rep. Raji posed a reflective question: “How would there be a world without teachers?” a sentiment he said continues to stir deep appreciation for the pivotal role teachers play in national development.
“Teachers are the unsung heroes changing the world one child at a time, whether in bustling cities or remote communities,” he said, saluting their “immeasurable sacrifices, dedication, and resilience.”
He emphasized that under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his legislative interventions have prioritized educational development as a tool for equity and transformation, particularly in Epe and surrounding rural areas.
Among key achievements highlighted:
Construction and furnishing of classroom blocks in both rural and urban areas.
Increased appointments of principals, head teachers, and administrative staff in new schools.
Improved working conditions and morale for teaching staff.
Expanded access to education for underserved communities.
Enhanced learning outcomes due to upgraded infrastructure.
“These are not just buildings,” Rep. Raji noted, “they are enabling environments where both teachers and learners can thrive.”
He reassured educators across Epe Federal Constituency, including those in riverine communities, of his continued commitment to their welfare and professional dignity.
“We understand that a motivated teacher births a transformed generation,” he said. “We will continue to work with public and private stakeholders to ensure teachers are supported, respected, and rewarded.”
However, Rep. Raji also called for introspection within the profession, urging teachers to uphold integrity and moral excellence.
“Our children deserve not just education, but the right values,” he said, adding that teachers must remain pillars of uprightness and avoid actions that could undermine their noble calling.
In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to all teachers in Epe and Lagos State at large for their daily efforts, love for knowledge, and commitment to shaping the future.
“As we commemorate World Teachers’ Day 2025, may we continue to work hand-in-hand to ensure teachers truly thrive, and by so doing, secure the destiny of our great nation,” he stated.
