kakalistiq.com reports that a solemn Ramadan lecture and special prayer session in Mojoda, Epe, on Thursday transformed into a powerful blend of faith and politics as key leaders called for sustained support for President and his Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event was organized by the lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Sylvester Ogunkelu, who gathered an impressive array of political, traditional and religious leaders for the Ramadan lecture and prayers for Nigeria.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Speaker of the Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; Governance Advisory Council leader and Epe divisional political figure, Akanni Seriki Bamu; former Lagos Assembly Speaker and GAC Member, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, revered monarch Oba Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom; local government chairmen across Epe Division, party stalwarts, traditional rulers and a large gathering of Muslim faithful.

In his remarks, Hon. Ogunkelu underscored the spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadan, noting that the prayer session was not only to seek divine guidance for the nation but also to appreciate the progress recorded under President Tinubu’s administration.

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Day, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, used the occasion to highlight the relationship between faith and governance, describing politics as a tool for societal order and prosperity within Islamic teachings.
“We all know that in the last two years since he assumed office, he has been doing well in the interest of the people,” Obasa said while urging political stakeholders, community leaders and party faithful to rally behind the President.
Drawing from Islamic history, the Speaker added that governance and leadership have deep roots within the teachings of Islam.
“When you talk about governance, it trickles back to politics which means politics has been in existence all the way back. And from what we’ve read in the holy Quran and submissions from his followers,” he said.
The call for unity and political support was echoed by leaders present, including members of the Governance Advisory Council, traditional rulers and council chairmen across Epe Division, who cited what they described as the transformative impact of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on the nation.

Delivering the lecture titled “Politics in Islam: The Way Forward,” Islamic scholar emphasized that politics, when guided by moral values, serves as a vital instrument for societal development and balance.
The cleric urged leaders and followers alike to remain conscious of their words and actions, noting that responsible leadership and disciplined speech are essential virtues in Islam.

He also offered prayers for Hon. Ogunkelu, praising his humanitarian contributions and leadership style, while encouraging him to continue expanding his impact in the community.
The gathering concluded with special prayers for peace, unity and continued progress in Nigeria, as well as renewed calls for collective support toward sustaining the current administration’s reform agenda.
