…Folu-Ise Communities Called Upon to Rally Behind the Federal Ministry of Works Project.
In a rallying call on Sunday, January 7th, 2023, Kakalistiq.com reports that Rep. Wale Raji, a Member of the House of Representatives, fervently urged the residents of Folu-Ise communities to throw their weight behind the ongoing road construction initiated by the Federal Ministry of Works in their vicinity.
The ambitious 3.2-kilometer road project, championed by the lawmaker, is a comprehensive construction masterpiece complete with meticulously planned drainages and culverts. The groundbreaking event drew the participation of influential Party Stalwarts from Epe, Eredo, Ikosi-Ejinrin, and Lekki LCDA, including key figures such as the State Welfare Secretary of the APC, Hon. Kehinde Adeniyi, and former State Welfare Secretary, Alhaja Ramota Bankole.
During his address, Rep. Wale Raji expressed his delight at continuing his legacy of impactful infrastructure development. Having influenced the tarring of the road network during his tenure as Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives decades ago, he emphasized his commitment to further landmark construction in his current role.
Highlighting the initial challenges faced with budgetary constraints two years ago, Raji showcased his dedication by extending the Ise-Igbogun road and expressed gratitude to the community for their support. He disclosed plans to liaise with the lawmaker from Ogun State to address the need for further extension to the Lagos-Ogun State boundary.
The lawmaker also shared initiatives to address community needs, including the relocation of the ocean-surge-ravaged Akodo-Ise Primary School and the personal funding of a modern toilet in the school. Urging the council chairman to ensure toll collectors adhere to guidelines, Raji emphasized the importance of free passage for construction materials to benefit the larger community.
Addressing the contractors and artisans, Raji called for cooperation and support while warning against rascality and criminal behavior. “For the contractors working on the road, I appeal to you to cooperate and support them. All artisans would be patronized adequately. While we will tolerate rascality, we will not condone criminality. Whoever does that will face the wrath of the law,” he said.
He recounted developmental projects, including school construction at Aboriji and the completion of the primary health care center at Ori-Oye, showcasing his commitment to enhancing community life.
The Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Hon. Razak Bamidele Kasali, praised Raji’s generosity and predicted that the Folu-Ise road construction would ease transportation challenges and stimulate local economic growth.
HRM Oba Abdulganiu Adegbesan, the Onise of Ise Land, expressed joy for the impactful project and pledged his full support alongside the Chairman of Lekki LCDA and community chiefs.
Earlier, Engineer Olufemi Dare and the representative of the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Engr. Mrs. Olukorede Keisha affirmed the project’s credibility. While he debunked the misconceptions of a “patch-patch” road, he pledged its thorough supervision and the commitment of the contractor to carry out a superb job spanning a total length of 3.323 km and a width of 6 meters.
