kakalistiq.com reports that he Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to the good people of the council area as they join millions of Muslims around the world in celebrating this year’s Eid-il-Kabir festival.

In a statement personally signed by the council boss, Anomo described Eid-il-Kabir—also known as Eid al-Adha—as a sacred occasion that calls for deep reflection on the values of devotion, sacrifice, and compassion.
Quoting the Holy Qur’an (Surah Al-Hajj 22:37), Anomo reminded Muslim faithful that the true significance of the festival lies not in the ritual of sacrifice, but in the sincerity and righteousness of the worshipper. “It is not their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him,” he quoted, noting that this powerful verse underscores the spiritual essence of Eid.
He further referenced a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which encourages the faithful to extend the blessings of the festival to the less privileged. “The best of deeds during these days,” the Prophet said, “is to sacrifice an animal and to offer the meat to the needy, to the orphan, and to the poor.”
According to Anomo, such teachings highlight the importance of generosity, empathy, and social responsibility during the festive period. He urged residents to embrace the core values of the celebration by reaching out to the needy and promoting harmony in their communities.
“As we commemorate this important festival,” he said, “let us reflect on the beauty of sharing and the strength that comes from unity. By showing love and compassion to one another, we uphold the values that define our community and our faith.”
Anomo also prayed for continued peace, prosperity, and divine blessings upon all residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. He expressed hope that the festival would bring renewed strength and inspire a collective commitment to the growth and development of the area.
“May your homes be filled with joy, your prayers accepted, and your acts of charity rewarded,” he added. “Let us celebrate with gratitude and use this occasion to reaffirm our commitment to building a just, inclusive, and peaceful society.”
He concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful and their families a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Eid-il-Kabir celebration.
