GAC Delegation Lauds Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman for Exemplary Leadership, as Security Projects Progresses.

In a remarkable display of commendation, kakalistiq.com reports that a delegation from the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) led by Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro, on 16th October 2024, paid a visit to Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) this week.

The delegation, which included key political figures, was on a midterm assessment tour aimed at evaluating the performance and progress of local governance under the leadership of Executive Chairman, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Obanikoro praised Chairman Anomo for his dedication and effective governance, describing his efforts as “a shining example of purposeful leadership.” He said, “It is clear from what we have seen and heard today that the Chairman’s administration has been proactive in addressing the needs of the people. We are encouraged by the level of development and inclusiveness in the projects across the wards.”

The assessment, part of the GAC’s broader mission to ensure good governance at the grassroots level, consisted of a stakeholders’ meeting, strategic review sessions, and an on-site inspection of ongoing and completed projects. Other members of the delegation included Chief Rilwan Aleshinloye, Alhaji Olalekan Akodu, and Barrister Sulaimon Adeniyi.

During the stakeholders’ meeting, community leaders had the opportunity to share their views on the administration’s performance. HRM Oba (Bldr) Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers, commending Chairman Anomo for his inclusive leadership style. “We are proud to see that projects are not just concentrated in a single area but spread across the entire LCDA. This is a testament to the Chairman’s commitment to fairness and transparency,” said the monarch.

Community stakeholders echoed similar sentiments, highlighting several infrastructure projects, including road repairs, market development, and educational facilities, as evidence of the Chairman’s dedication to community development. “We are seeing the dividends of democracy in action, and it gives us hope for a better future,” said Alhaji Akodu during his address.

In response, Senator Obanikoro emphasized the GAC’s recognition of the LCDA’s achievements, encouraging the Chairman to continue on the path of good governance. “Our message is simple: do not relent. The people are seeing the progress, and it is this kind of leadership that we need across Lagos State,” he stated.

In a related development, Akogun Anomo’s administration has made significant strides in bolstering security infrastructure within the LCDA. The construction of the new Officers’ Quarters at the Ketu-Ereyun Police Station, which began just three weeks ago, is advancing rapidly. According to Areh AbdulHamid, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, the project is nearing its roofing stage, with final touches such as plastering and wiring set to follow shortly.

“This facility will be ready for commissioning in the coming weeks, barring any unforeseen delays,” AbdulHamid said. “It represents the Chairman’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the security architecture of the LCDA, ensuring that our law enforcement officers have the support they need to serve our communities effectively.”

The new quarters, when completed, will provide comfortable accommodation for officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), further strengthening the safety and security framework of the area. Chairman Anomo’s proactive approach in this regard has garnered widespread approval from residents, with many expressing optimism about the improvements it will bring to community policing.

The visit by the GAC delegation underscores the achievements of Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, celebrating his administration’s accomplishments while serving as a call to continue fostering development and security across Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
