Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, others Converge in Ejinrin as Fidau Prayers Honor Legacy of Late Alhaji Shoye Rafiu Shittu

The solemn occasion, which included fidau prayers, drew dignitaries from across Lagos State and beyond, underscoring the enduring legacy of Alhaji Shoye Rafiu Shittu.

Led by Dr. Hakeem Shittu, the fidau prayers were held at the Ejinrin playing field, attracting prominent figures such as the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforoji, and Member of LAHA, Epe I, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, among others. The event also saw the presence of commissioners, permanent secretaries, educationists, traditional rulers, and Islamic scholars, highlighting the widespread respect and admiration for the late Alhaji Shoye Rafiu Shittu.

In his address to the attendees, the Deputy Governor urged patience amidst the prevailing challenges, assuring that the government is diligently working to overcome obstacles. He expressed gratitude to the clerics and community for their support during Dr. Hakeem Shittu’s time of mourning.

Reflecting on the life of the deceased, various personalities shared their thoughts and prayers. Hon. Monsuru Akinloye, Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, lauded Alhaji Shittu’s exemplary life and commended Dr. Hakeem Shittu for honoring his father’s memory with dignity and respect.

Hon. Wale Raji Anomo, Council Chairman of Ikosi/Ejirin, echoed similar sentiments, praising the late Alhaji Shittu’s integrity and dedication to his faith. He underscored the profound impact of Alhaji Shittu’s legacy on the Ejirin community and beyond.

The Permanent Secretary/Tutor General, Lagos State Education District IV, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike Olawale, hailed the late Alhaji Shittu as a man of integrity who imparted valuable lessons to his children. He commended Dr. Hakeem Shittu for upholding his father’s principles and fostering development in the education sector.
