Community Unites as Wale Raji’s Secondary School Groundbreaking Transforms Oko-Abe

In a remarkable display of community solidarity and visionary leadership, Kakalistiq.com reports that Rep. Wale Raji of the Epe federal constituency at the House of Representatives spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony for a historic secondary school project in Oko-Abe. This groundbreaking event, held on Friday, February 17th, 2024, marks a significant step forward in securing a brighter future for generations to come.

Amidst an atmosphere of celebration and unity, communities from ward C1, comprising Oguntedo, Oko-Abe, Oregun, Ito-Omu, Gadangba, Ladaba, Idi-Afon, Ishan, Ibon, Moyopa, Orepete, Oriba, Lamudi, Oriogoro, and Mayunre, unanimously chose to donate a generous 4-acre parcel of land for the establishment of the first-ever community secondary school in the Epe local government area. This collaborative effort showcases the true spirit of cohesion, philanthropy, and altruism, underpinned by Rep. Wale Raji’s committed and exemplary leadership.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries and critical stakeholders, including the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who was represented by the APC State Welfare Secretary, Hon. Kehinde Adeniyi. Also present were Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, represented by the Director of Education, Mr. Omojuwa Fred, as well as Hon. Seriki Olabowale, Chairman of the APC Ward Chairmen in Lagos State, and members of the Wale Raji Think-Tank Committee.

Royal figures gracing the occasion included HRM Oba Taiwo Gbadamosi, the Oniladaba of Ladaba Kingdom; HRM Oba Sikiru Nureni Ebudola, Omola of Odomola; HRM Oba Adeshina Adebowale; and High Chief Bello Olowolagba, the Baale of Oko-Abe, among others.

Speaking during an interview at the ceremony, Rep. Wale Raji expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the community and emphasized the importance of public service in realizing impactful projects like the community secondary school. He assured attendees that the project would be completed in time for the next academic session, with fully furnished classrooms.

“The secret is the commitment to public service. I thank Almighty God, who has given us the wherewithal to be able to do what we are doing today. I appreciate the good people of Ward C1 in the Epe federal constituency for their unflinching support. From the word go, we have given our commitment to serve and protect the interests of the entire constituency. The request for this school has been on for a while, and we have made it a priority, and that is what we have witnessed its actualization here today,” he said.

Furthermore, Rep. Raji outlined plans for additional educational interventions in neighboring communities such as Temu Owu-Ikosi and Afuye in Epe. However, he noted the pressing need for more infrastructural development, including roads and primary health centers, urging continued collaboration and support from all stakeholders.
