Hon. Ismail Akinloye Hosts Inaugural Aimasiko Ramadan Lecture to Honor Late Father

Kakalistiq.com reports that the Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Akinloye, hosted the first-ever Aimasiko Ramadan Lecture in memory of his late father,

Alhaji Ismail Muse Aimasiko. The event, held in Odomola during the sacred month of Ramadan, brought together political figures, Islamic scholars, and community leaders in a solemn yet inspiring gathering.

Among the esteemed attendees were Sheikh Abdulwasiu Agbomabiwon, Sheikh Soliu Olanrewaju, Hon. Lateef Adesanya, Hon. Stella Odudolapo, Hon. Fariu Arebi, and Alhaji Waheed Ogunnorin, alongside past and present political leaders of Eredo LCDA.

In his address, Hon. Akinloye emphasized that the lecture was not just a tribute to his father’s memory but also a way to uphold the Islamic values and teachings he instilled. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who attended, particularly his predecessors in office, APC party leaders, religious clerics, and his political and immediate family.

The Grand Chief Imam of Epe Division, Fadeelatul Sheikh AbdulRahmon Sadallah Abiola, commended Hon. Akinloye’s leadership, noting how rare it is for political successors to rally their predecessors for a common cause. He lauded the chairman for fostering unity and bridging political divides, a feat not easily achieved in the local political landscape.

Sheikh Sadallah remarked on the unnecessary rivalries often seen between former and current officeholders, stressing that political terms are temporary, unlike the enduring leadership of religious and traditional rulers. He prayed for Akinloye’s continued success and re-election while also extending prayers for the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Sheikh Dr. Zafaran Adeniyi Omotope, an Education Director at Vanguards Academy, spoke on the theme “The Temporary Nature of Ad-Duniya (Worldly Life).” He urged attendees to reflect on life’s transient nature, warning against excessive attachment to material wealth, power, and status.

He likened the world to a dangerous, fleeting entity, reminding the audience that death is the great equalizer – erasing worldly achievements and leaving only good deeds as a lasting legacy. “Life is a bridge to Jannah, not a permanent home,” he cautioned, encouraging the faithful to focus on acts of righteousness.

While the event featured Fidau prayers for the deceased, guests at the gathering praised Hon. Akinloye’s initiative, encouraging others to adopt similar programs as a means of honouring the deceased while promoting charitable acts during Ramadan. Many described the event as a powerful blend of remembrance, faith, and community service.

With this maiden edition of the Aimasiko Ramadan Lecture, Hon. Akinloye has set a precedent for future generations ensuring that faith, unity, and legacy remain at the heart of leadership in Eredo LCDA.
