Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, presented the 2024 Supplementary Budget to the Council’s Legislative Chambers today. Dubbed the “Budget of Developmental Growth, Fiscal Sustainability, and Wealth Creation,” the budget aims to ensure long-term prosperity for the community.
Addressing the council, Hon. Olowa expressed his gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the Executive arm, Legislature, and Management Staff. “Despite the tough economic environment, our team has shown immense dedication to meeting our goals. This budget reflects our commitment to serving the best interests of our citizens,” he said.
Chief Press Secretary Akadiri Ayorinde in a statement emphasized the administration’s focus on environmental sustainability, highlighting the rollout of garbage collection tricycles, known locally as *keke jaja*. “This is just one example of how we are pushing for innovation in environmental management,” Ayorinde stated. He also pointed out the strides made in education, noting, “We’ve awarded bursaries and scholarships to deserving students, ensuring that our youth are well-equipped for the future.”
Additionally, investments in infrastructure continue under Olowa’s leadership, with new Executive and Legislative buildings marking the success of the administration’s four key agenda programs. “The budget reflects high expectations for the future, and we are confident it will perform,” Ayorinde added.
