Ibeju-Lekki LG Chairman Lauded by Iyaloja-General, Kicks Off a Week of Community-Centric Initiatives

Kakalistiq.com reports that the week began on a high note for the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area as the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, paid a courtesy visit to the Council Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. Despite the heavy downpour, Chief Mrs Tinubu-Ojo made her way to the Council Secretariat on July 2, 2024, where she was warmly received by the Executive Chairman, members of the cabinet, and the management team.

Hon. Olowa expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the Iyaloja-General’s visit, highlighting some of his administration’s key achievements and showcasing the ultra-modern Council Secretariat complex. Mrs. Tinubu-Ojo praised Hon. Olowa’s “Midas touch” in transforming the council area and prayed for his continued zeal in pursuing welfarist policies. “Your dedication to the development of Ibeju-Lekki is truly commendable. Keep the zeal burning,” she encouraged.

The following day, Hon. Olowa visited Community Primary School, Abijo, and Roman Catholic Mission Primary School, Bogije, accompanied by the Supervisor of Education, Hon. Temitope Sofwan Ogungbo, and the Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Mutiu Saheed. They conducted a thorough inspection of the buildings and surroundings, identifying areas needing urgent attention, including the perimeter fence, water supply, and overall renovation.

Earlier on July 1, 2024, Hon. Olowa inaugurated the street naming committee for Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, with members including Hon. Adewale Adebanjo as Chairman and Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa as Secretary. Other committee members are Hon. Akeem Oluwole, Hon. Oladehinde Aliasau, Barr. Damilola Lawson, Barr. Kehinde Popoola, Mr. Orji Olalekan, and Mr. Adegboyega Dare.

The week also saw a team of agricultural experts from the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, led by Mr. Ogunseye Femi, visiting Hon. Olowa to discuss various agricultural initiatives. The meeting focused on identifying farm produce, production capacity, and farmers’ needs. Hon. Olowa recently launched the out-grower scheme aimed at boosting food production in the area. The team conducted an inspection tour of the farmlands in the Elerangbe axis, with plans to start massive farming in the Idi Ori community.

Additionally, students from the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) 2024/2025 set paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Olowa. Led by the class governor Mr. Adigun Sulaiman, the students presented raincoats to the Council boss. The visit, which included students like Mrs. Bolare Abifarin, Mrs Mukandam Atinuke, and Mr Olaoye Tayelolu, was also attended by the Council-Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, and the Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Olayinka.

Hon. Olowa’s proactive leadership and commitment to community development have garnered widespread applause, setting a strong example of effective governance and community support.
