Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman Takes Swift Action to Combat Flood Threats in Agbowa.

In a decisive move to address pressing environmental challenges in Agbowa, kakalistiq.com reports that the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, on Friday, July 5th, 2024, embarked on an urgent assessment tour of the community’s most affected areas. The recent downpour has worsened issues with blocked drainage channels, causing severe erosion and raising the level of flooding.

Prompted by multiple reports from concerned residents, Chairman Anomo’s tour aimed to gauge the extent of the problem firsthand and devise a strategic response. “Our primary objective is to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens by addressing environmental issues head-on,” stated Anomo during the tour.

Accompanied by key council officials, including Vice Chairman Alh. Wasiu Dehinsilu and Councillor Hon. Oguntimirin Olalekan, as well as APC leaders Mrs. Funmilayo Ikudaisi and Hon. Saheed Abass, the Chairman meticulously inspected the blocked drainage systems and erosion-prone areas. This proactive approach underscored the council’s commitment to swift and effective intervention.

Following the thorough assessment, Chairman Anomo assured the residents of Agbowa that the council would promptly tackle the drainage and erosion issues. “We understand the gravity of the situation and are dedicated to implementing solutions that will mitigate these environmental challenges,” he affirmed.
