Ahmed Seriki, Commissioner of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, representing Epe Division, has urged local government staff in the state to draw lessons from the Prophet’s life to enhance productivity and support the THEMES+ agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Speaking in an exclusive interview in Lagos, Hon. Seriki emphasized that the values upheld by Prophet Muhammad, such as dedication, humility, and honesty, serve as guiding principles for workers striving for rapid development in Lagos State. The Commissioner noted that these principles could contribute significantly to improving service delivery across local governments.
“The birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) offers a unique opportunity to reflect on his exemplary lifestyle, particularly his commitment to the welfare of society. His values of selflessness, accountability, and diligence should inspire civil servants to contribute to the rapid development of Lagos, especially as we work towards achieving the THEMES+ agenda,” Seriki said.
The THEMES+ agenda, which focuses on six key developmental pillars—Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism, and Security and Governance—has been the cornerstone of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration. Hon. Seriki stated that aligning work ethics with these values will ensure that Lagos continues to grow as a model state for development.
Prophet Muhammad’s life, marked by fairness, justice, and accountability, holds valuable lessons for public service workers, especially in the local government sector, which plays a vital role in grassroots development.
