In a ceremony marked by celebration and recognition, Kakalistiq.com reports that the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa was awarded the Outstanding Local Government Leadership Award by the esteemed Epe Club of Lagos State.
On Saturday, June 8, the accolade was presented during the club’s 2024 annual general meeting, a notable event that also featured the induction of new members and a public lecture on agriculture and food security, with a focus on the Epe Division.
The award ceremony celebrated Mayor Olowa’s exceptional leadership and innovative initiatives that have significantly transformed grassroots governance in Ibeju-Lekki.
Among the dignitaries present to celebrate with Mayor Olowa were Hon. Kabir Opeyemi Ogungbo, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Taxation and Revenue; Hon. Kaseem Raheem, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly; the Leader of the Ibeju-Lekki Legislative Arm, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka Oluwafemi; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo; along with other legislative and executive members, and notable personalities.
President of the Epe Club, Hon. Adebola Shabi, who presented the award, praised Olowa’s efforts, stating, “Mayor Olowa’s visionary projects have set a benchmark in local governance. His dedication to the community serves as a shining example for others to follow.”
In his acceptance speech, Mayor Olowa expressed his gratitude to the Epe Club Board for the honour. “This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire Ibeju-Lekki community. We will continue to push for social and economic growth, leaving no stone unturned,” he vowed.
