Rep. Wale Raji

In a message filled with appreciation and deep reflection, Rep. Raji highlighted the profound significance of the Eid-il-Kabir festival, reminding all that beyond the merriment, the season stands firmly on the pillars of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion, values exemplified by the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.

“Being alive to witness this day is a blessing that should not be taken for granted,” he said. “But more importantly, we must not forget the values that this holy festival teaches, humility in our dealings with others, sacrifice for the good of our communities, and generosity to those in need.”

He further urged Muslims in Epe and Nigerians across the country to celebrate with large hearts, showing kindness to their neighbours and extending hands of support to the less privileged. “Let the spirit of giving define our celebrations. Let us reach out to the poor, share with the needy, and pray for peace and prosperity in our land,” Rep. Raji said.

Amid the festive cheer, he also issued a thoughtful reminder on safety and security. He advised residents to exercise caution during the ritual slaughter of animals, ensuring it is done hygienically and in safe environments to avoid health hazards or injuries. He also encouraged proper handling and cooking of meat to prevent foodborne illnesses.

“For those travelling to be with loved ones, please observe all road safety rules. Drive responsibly, avoid night journeys where possible, and ensure your vehicles are in good condition. Your safety and that of your family must come first,” he added.

The lawmaker also called on the public to be security-conscious, avoid large gatherings without adequate safety measures, and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.

As Eid-il-Kabir festivities fill homes with joy and streets with celebrations, Rep. Wale Raji reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the people of Epe, pledging to continue working for peace, development, and unity in the constituency and beyond.

“Eid Mubarak to all. May this season renew our faith, strengthen our bond as a people, and bring us closer to the ideals of sacrifice, love, and peaceful coexistence,” he concluded.
