In recognition of his impactful achievements since taking office, kakalistiq.com Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has been named the Outstanding Policy Maker of the Year 2024 by the Democracy Heroes Award Africa.
Senator Abiru secured the prestigious award after receiving 3,448 votes from constituents who praised his impressive performance. The event organizers highlighted the rigorous and well-monitored voting process, supervised by an accredited audit committee.
The 12th edition of the award ceremony, held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, was a star-studded affair. Distinguished guests included serving state governors, top government officials, and business leaders, all honored for their contributions in various categories.
A respected public servant, Senator Abiru is a former banker and chartered accountant currently serving in Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly. He chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions and previously led the Senate Committee on Industries. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Southern Senators’ Forum.
His legislative approach is built on three core pillars: Legislative Action, Empowerment, and Endowment.
