As Nigeria celebrates Democracy Day, Kakalistiq.com reports that Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions, and Chairman of the Southern Senators Forum, commended Nigerians for their unwavering steadfastness and patriotism over the past 25 years.
In a heartfelt goodwill message, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District emphasized the significance of this milestone. “I join esteemed constituents of the Lagos East Senatorial District and all Nigerians in commemorating 2024 Democracy Day. It has been 25 years since we started this democratic journey. Despite the challenges, we have every reason to celebrate our growing democracy,” Abiru said.
The Senator urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, stressing that the difficult policy decisions of President Tinubu’s administration are designed to put the nation on a path to sustainable growth and development. “There is light at the end of the tunnel,” he assured, appealing for continued support and understanding for the government’s efforts.
“I also seek the support and understanding of all Nigerians for our dear President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in his patriotic quest to restore our nation on the path of progress. The pains and inevitable discomforts that come with such audacious policy decisions will soon give way as we start seeing the positive outcomes of the government’s policies,” Abiru added.
