kakalistiq.com reports that the newly built Epe Police Station has been inspected by a team from the Lagos State Police Command ahead of its official commissioning. The project, facilitated by the member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Wale Raji, is part of his efforts to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and improve the welfare of police officers in the area.

Speaking on Friday during the final inspection in Epe, Raji said the modern facility was designed to create a more conducive working environment for the police and strengthen security in the community.
Reacting to those who might view the project as a misplaced priority in the face of other challenges in Epe, he explained that providing security infrastructure is a core responsibility of government.
“This is to support the efforts of Mr President towards making life better for Nigerians generally and more secure. Our decision to provide a modern police station and a conducive atmosphere for our Police men in Epe Police Command is to enhance their capacity to meet the primary purpose of government which is security of lives and properties. Without security, every other facet of life would become difficult for the people. Security is a top priority and that’s why we feel that the old colonial building is not conducive enough for them,” Raji stated.
He further disclosed that the purpose of the visit was to lead the Inspector-General of Police’s team for the final inspection of the facility. The team, he said, included the Works Department of the Lagos State Police Command led by OC Works, Oluwatosin Ozor and Olaniyi Lateef while Epe DPO, CSP Benjamin Ayeni was in attendance.
The OC Works expressed appreciation to the lawmaker on behalf of the IGP and the Lagos State Police Commissioner. “We thank our honorable for this magnanimous gift he has given to the Nigerian Police Force and on behalf of the IG, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, we’re very grateful. The Police appreciate your efforts for our welfare concerns, thank you so much,” she said.
The State Welfare Secretary of the APC, Hon. Kehinde Adeniyi, who was seeing the facility for the first time, also commended Raji. “We thank God for everything. Hon. Wale Raji has performed credibly and wonderfully to the people of Epe in General. He has laid his hands on projects like markets, hospitals, a police station, road networks, street lights and others in the constituency. We thank God for his life. May Almighty Allah continue to be with him and shower his blessings upon him,” he prayed.
A community leader and APC chieftain in Ward A4, Epe Local Government, Alhaji Olamiji Alinson (Man of God), described the project as a welcome development. “We have to thank the MHR for facilitating the project to benefit the good people of Epe. This is my first time coming here, we need a lot of prayers for him because we need a lot of transformative projects like this in Epe. In the town, he has facilitated schools, street lights and others. I’m very grateful for seeing this during my lifetime and God will be with him forever,” he prayed.
The journey to the project’s completion began on September 23, 2024, when Hon. Wale Raji visited the then Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ishola, alongside Epe’s Divisional Police Officer, CSP Ayeni Benjamin, and his Senior Legislative Aide, Babatunde Kaka. Two days later, the OC Works and her team arrived in Epe to assess the proposed site, received by SLA Hassan Bashir and SLA Wale Olusesi.
The completion of the police station now stands as another significant legislative legacy of Rep. Wale Raji.
