Eredo LCDA Launches Phase 1 of Ambitious Road Construction Initiative: Bid Opening Marks Major Step Forward

Kakalistiq.com reports that Eredo Local Council Development Area took a significant stride towards its ambitious infrastructure development plan with the official opening of bid documents for the construction of Lawal Street off Omola Road, one of the 114 roads earmarked for construction across 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs in Phase 1. The ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, signaling a new chapter in the area’s development trajectory.

The Vice Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Lateef Adesanya, who represented the Chairman, Hon. Monsuru Akinloye, presided over the proceedings as the Tender Board Committee Chairman, extending a warm welcome to all committee members and contractor representatives gathered for the bid opening exercise. Highlighting the significance of this initiative, Hon. Adesanya emphasized its transformative potential for the people of the LCDA, promising improved connectivity, enhanced access, and bolstered economic activity once the projects are completed.

In an interview, Hon. Lateef Adesanya remarked, “This bid opening marks a critical moment for Eredo LCDA. These road construction projects signify our unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of our constituents. Improved infrastructure translates to improved livelihoods, and we are dedicated to delivering on our promise of development and prosperity for all.”

Council Manager, Mrs. Ibilola Anifowose, also addressed the gathering, introducing members of the Tender Board and Procurement Planning Committee while stressing the importance of transparent and efficient procurement processes in realizing the LCDA’s development goals. This sentiment was echoed by the procurement officer, Mr. Omotobora Abiodun, who outlined the stringent procurement guidelines guiding the bidding and advertisement procedures for the project.

The scope of the project was elucidated by the council engineer, emphasizing the dimensions of Lawal Street, which spans 330 meters in length with an average width of 7.3 meters. Following meticulous scrutiny, the bid submissions were opened, revealing three contenders: Michlad Nig. Ltd., Toyelean Project Ltd., and Hadmeth Global Resources. Ultimately, Toyelean Project Ltd. emerged as the responsive bidder for the proposed project.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including members of the Tender Board, the Procurement Planning Committee, and representatives from various departments within the LCDA, underscoring the collaborative effort driving the infrastructure revitalization agenda forward. Their presence attests to the shared commitment towards fostering sustainable development and prosperity in Eredo LCDA.
