Transforming Education: Galaxy Backbone Endorses Enugu’s Smart Schools Model for Nationwide Adoption

Olusegun Olulade, Executive Director of Customer Centricity and Marketing at Galaxy Backbone Limited, has urged state governments across Nigeria to emulate Enugu State’s innovative Smart Schools model.

During a recent partnership visit to Enugu State, Hon. Olulade, leading the delegation of Nigeria’s premier ICT services provider, pledged unwavering support for the state’s groundbreaking Smart Schools initiative.

Earlier in the week, the delegation received a warm welcome from His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, at the Governor’s Office in Lion Building, Enugu. In attendance at the meeting are SSG Prof Chidiebere Onyia, Special adviser on the governor’s delivery unit, Mr. Ozurumba Afigbo, Special adviser on ICT, Mr. Nnaemeka Ani., also present are Galaxy Backbone Staff, Mr Henry Akubue, Ag. Regional Coordinator South East and South South, Engr Udochi Ododo, Head Solution Design and Mr Obinna Ifenze, Admin South East and South-South.

Emphasizing the necessity of the Smart Schools initiative, Hon. Olulade said “This partnership aims to revolutionize Enugu State’s educational sector by integrating advanced technology and modern facilities.”

He highlighted its potential to serve as a model for other states across Nigeria, showcasing a comprehensive range of features: Interactive digital whiteboards, Two free pairs of school uniforms for every child, State-of-the-art science laboratories, One free meal per day for every child, Solar-powered academic blocks, Staff quarters, Creativity and innovation rooms, School buses and Modern ICT centres.

Others include Medical clinics, One million-litre underground water storage facilities, Integrated smart farms for experiential learning, Centers for robotics and artificial intelligence, Hybrid multimedia libraries, Technology laboratories, Twenty-five inclusive classrooms accommodating students with special needs and Free Android tablets.

“Some of the Smart Schools visited are located in remote villages, serving about four villages and providing quality education to children from underprivileged backgrounds,” Hon. Olulade noted, praising the Enugu Smart Schools as a blueprint for other states.

Hon. Olulade reaffirmed Galaxy Backbone’s commitment to driving digital transformation and supporting initiatives that enhance educational outcomes. “This partnership will mark a pivotal moment in Enugu State’s journey towards a technologically advanced educational system, setting a benchmark for other regions to follow,” he said.
