What began as a personal milestone quickly turned into a community-wide celebration. Hon. (Engr.) Kenny Kadri-Edu, popularly known as KK is Okay, kicked off her 50th birthday celebration by organizing a free medical outreach that drew 103 elderly residents from across Epe Local Government Area.

Held in the Oke-Owode area of Epe, kakalistiq.com reports that the event brought together men and women aged 50 and above from the eight wards of the local government for health screenings, free medication, and food supplies, all courtesy of the former Epe LG Vice Chairman.

Speaking with journalists at the event, Engineer Kenny said the initiative wasn’t just a birthday gesture, but a heartfelt way to show appreciation to those who have stood by her and her political journey over the years.
“The best way to celebrate in life is by making people happy. Moreover, as a political juggernaut, the beneficiaries are the people responding to our call, any day and at any time, as party members. They’ve been so good to us, ensuring that we win massively during the election period at the local, state and federal level. The best way that I think I can give back to them is through this medical checkup to check their status medically, if they are fit and give them drugs and food. They’ll be happy that we didn’t forget them. As they are with us, we are also with them,” she said.
Kadri-Edu, who turned 50 on March 27 during the holy month of Ramadan, noted that she deliberately postponed the celebration to ensure it served a greater purpose.
Beyond the birthday festivities, the outreach was part of a broader push to support government efforts and strengthen local welfare without waiting for handouts.
“Taking from the government is no longer sustainable and old-fashioned,” she said. “The initiative was designed to support the government at all levels, thereby giving back to society.”
Residents were selected based on their medical needs across the eight wards. The event not only addressed their health concerns but also renewed their sense of belonging and relevance in the community.
“They should continue to support our party. Since we do not forget them, anytime we call on them, they should respond to us,” she added.
Among the beneficiaries, Mr. Olabode Towolawi, the Otunba Mayegun of Oni Land, praised Kadri-Edu’s long-standing generosity, noting that her spirit of giving predates her entry into politics. “I’m not surprised to be among the beneficiaries,” he said, expressing his appreciation with prayers and promises of continued support.
APC Ward A4 Chairman, Mr. Kehinde Shittu, echoed the sentiments, describing Kadri-Edu as a tolerant and selfless leader who consistently puts people first. “She has been accommodating and tolerant over the years,” he said, praying for her continued progress.
Rounding off the day’s goodwill messages was the celebrant’s mother, Chief Mrs. Ayodele Kadri, who was full of pride as she thanked everyone for their support and underscored the importance of the outreach.“The exercise will help the beneficiaries enjoy sound health with the provision of free drugs,” she said warmly.
In the end, what could have been just another birthday party became something more meaningful, a moment of service, gratitude, and renewed community ties.
