Under the strategic and proactive leadership of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has experienced a wave of transformation that continues to enhance the quality of life for its residents.
Recently, the council’s achievements were showcased during a visit by the Governor’s Advisory Committee, led by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro. The event not only marked a thorough inspection of ongoing projects but also highlighted the numerous strides made under Hon. Akinloye’s administration.
The presence of Senator Obanikoro and his team set the stage for a robust dialogue with stakeholders in the community. Praising Hon. Akinloye, Obanikoro remarked, “For me to see a smile on the faces of your people, it’s a sign you’ve done well.” This simple yet powerful observation echoed the sentiments of many, who lauded the chairman’s unyielding commitment to his people.
From grassroots leaders to traders and traditional rulers, community representatives had the opportunity to voice their appreciation. The Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo-Noforija kingdom, HRM Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja (JP, FMBE) echoing sentiments of other traditional leaders, proudly acknowledged the impressive range of projects that have positively impacted Eredo LCDA.
Bridging Infrastructure Gaps with Imokun Road Rehabilitation: One of the administration’s landmark achievements is the resurfacing of Imokun Road. This project, a testament to Hon. Akinloye’s dedication to infrastructure development, has improved mobility and catalyzed economic activities in the area.
Excited by the development, the asphalt laying of the road spurred Hon. Dr. Segun Agbaje, Commissioner III Lagos State Teaching Service Commission to pledge his unflinching support towards Akinloye’s sterling administration. As the community continues to benefit from smoother commutes and easier access, Hon. Akinloye assured residents of more projects in the pipeline, aiming to extend infrastructural benefits across Eredo.
Building a Better Future with Educational Development: Education has always been a key pillar of Hon. Akinloye’s vision for Eredo. The provision of a generator to UPE primary school, Ajegbende; perimeter fencing of UPE primary school Ilara and Imokun; the completion of a block of 3 classrooms at Odo-Gbawojo community as well as the ongoing construction of a block of six classrooms at Odomola Junior Secondary School are instances of such initiative. These aims to provide a conducive learning environment for students. With the interior plastering completed in Odomola, the project is progressing swiftly, underscoring the administration’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure.
Electrification Initiatives to Power Communitues:
Addressing the critical need for stable electricity, Hon. Akinloye facilitated the delivery of two 500KVA transformers to Odo-Egiri and Imokun communities. Earlier, Odo-Gbawojo and Odogbonle communities have taken delivery of same capacity of transformer. These installations represent a significant leap forward in efforts to improve the local power supply, enhancing business operations and daily living for residents. During the handover ceremony, community members expressed deep gratitude, with assurances of continued support for the administration’s initiatives.
Improving Public Safety, Health and Community Support:
Hon. Akinloye’s administration strongly recognizes the importance of safety, health and communal support. Recent efforts include the provisions of a Toyota Tundra van for the Muwon Vigilante Group, highlighting the administration’s commitment to maintaining security. Additionally, the installation of generators in primary health centers, renovation of Poka and Iraye PHCs as well as schools has ensured seamless services, a testament to the council’s focus on health and education.
Ongoing Projects and Future Plans:
Progress on other infrastructure projects continues, including the rehabilitation of Adebowale Road in Odo-Mola. With ongoing repairs to drainage systems and reconstruction of culverts, the initiative promises to enhance road safety and longevity. These measures, coupled with the commencement of asphalt laying on reconstructed roads, mark significant milestones that reflect a brighter future for Eredo.
Furthermore, the launch of the 4th edition of the Back to School Initiative exemplifies Hon. Akinloye’s drive to uplift the youth. Essential educational resources, such as school bags and exercise books, were distributed across 18 primary schools, reflecting the administration’s investment in future generations.
All Hands on Deck for a Better Eredo:
The success of these initiatives is also attributed to the collaborative spirit that Hon. Akinloye has cultivated among various community stakeholders. Leaders from the Christian Association of Nigeria, the League of Imams, and traditional rulers have rallied behind the chairman, offering their prayers and support. This unity underpins a shared commitment to progress, as seen during Senator Obanikoro’s visit.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Hon. Akinloye expressed his gratitude to the Governor’s Advisory Committee for their feedback and support. “This is just the beginning,” he said, emphasizing his administration’s ongoing efforts to foster development, one project at a time.
With sustainable development across sectors be it infrastructure, education, power, or public safety, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye’s leadership continues to drive Eredo LCDA towards a prosperous and promising future. His administration’s achievements are not just projects; they are legacies that will shape the community for years to come.
