Following this, they inspected Oko-Abe Community Secondary School, where two blocks of 12 classrooms ready for commissioning have been constructed.

Rep. Wale Raji, speaking at the gathering, shared insights into the transformation he envisions for Oko-Abe. “This community, once challenged in terms of public secondary education, will soon be home to a well-equipped school with two blocks of 12 classrooms. This is part of our strategy to reduce the number of out-of-school children, ensuring education for all,” he said.

Raji also expressed gratitude to Hon. Alli-Balogun for his unwavering support, highlighting his historic role as the first Commissioner of Education in Lagos to visit Oko-Abe and Ward C1. “Education is a fundamental right, and every child deserves access, irrespective of their background or location. Our goal is to ensure no child is denied this opportunity,” he stated.

Reflecting on the progress in an interview, the Commissioner commended the educational development initiatives, saying, “We’ve toured Epe Grammar School, where several projects are underway, such as a Mini Stadium, dining hall, staff quarters, classrooms, and boarding hostel facilities. This demonstrates that Rep. Wale Raji is truly representing the people of Epe Federal Constituency.”

At Oko-Abe Community Secondary School, Hon. Alli-Balogun inspected the new facilities as part of the pre-commissioning. Stressing the significance of the inspection, he said: “We are here to ensure everything is in place before we officially open these 12 classrooms, a project made possible by Rep. Raji. Education is a key pillar in Lagos State, and projects like this are instrumental in driving our goals deeply rooted in the THEMES plus agenda.”

He further addressed concerns about staff accommodation, confirming that measures are being taken to provide proper housing for teachers, with temporary solutions already in place.

The inspection also saw expressions of appreciation from party Stalwarts, including Hon. Kehinde Adeniyi, representing the APC State Chairman.

“Hon Wale Raji is an indefatigable representative. He is representing us well. As far as representation is concerned in Epe Federal Constituency, we have never produced a candidate of his own nature that cares for our people in terms of the welfare and all other social activities,” he stated.

The Baale of Oko-Abe community sharing the sentiments of Baale of Ishon, highlighted the community’s efforts to address security such as fencing and reaffirmed their support in employing local teachers as requested by the Commissioner.

As Rep. Wale Raji continues to advance its educational development agenda, this pre-commissioning visit marks a milestone in the concerted efforts to bridge the gap between urban and rural education in Epe Federal Constituency.
