Akogun Anomo, Sesan Olowa Call for Executive-Legislative Synergy to Fast-Track Development in Epe Division.

kakalistiq.com reports that the Epe Division Councilors Forum has emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the executive and legislative arms to accelerate development across Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the division.

This call was made during the forum’s maiden annual get-together, held on Sunday, January 26, 2024, at the Legislative Building of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi.

The event brought together all 31 councilors across Epe Division, along with top dignitaries, including Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki LG, and Hon. Remilekun Alogba, Vice Chairman of Lekki LCDA, among others.

In his remarks, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo commended the councilors for their unity and dedication, acknowledging their role in driving grassroots development. He also highlighted the critical role played by their spouses, recognizing their contributions to the success of their legislative responsibilities.

“The progress of any LG or LCDA depends on the synergy between its executive and legislative arms. We remain committed to ensuring impactful governance that unlocks the full potential of Epe Division,” Anomo assured.

Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the host chairman, echoed this sentiment, stressing that collaborative governance is the foundation of sustainable development. He pointed to numerous ongoing projects in Ibeju-Lekki as proof that executive-legislative cooperation yields tangible results.

Other speakers, including Hon. Remilekun Alogba and Hon. Gbenga Balogun, urged councilors to maintain professionalism, avoid distractions, and seek continuous learning to enhance their effectiveness. They underscored that quality legislation and constructive engagement with the executive remain crucial in delivering the dividends of democracy.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Hon. Musediku Monsuru, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for their dedication to the forum’s success.

The gathering not only strengthened inter-council relationships but also reinforced the shared commitment of Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikosi-Ejinrin, Lekki, and Eredo LGs/LCDAs to fostering good governance and accelerated development in Epe Division.
