….Chief Olayemi Dada takes the reins as 17th President, pledges unity, growth, and renewed community impact.

Under clear skies and the joyful hum of camaraderie, kakalistiq.com reports that history was made once again on Saturday, 19th April 2025 at the T-Junction clubhouse as Epe Club, the premier socio-cultural association in Epe Division, inaugurated its newly elected Executive Council amidst fanfare, heartfelt reflections, and renewed commitment to unity and progress.
The event, marked by colour and tradition, was anything but ordinary. It signified not just the passing of a baton but the continuation of a legacy rooted in service, cohesion, and communal pride.
In his inaugural address, the newly sworn-in President, Chief Olayemi Dada, stood before members and dignitaries with humility and purpose, acknowledging the deep significance of the day. “Today is another historic day in the life of our great club, as we celebrate another milestone. I therefore wish to appreciate the Almighty God, who in His infinite mercies and benevolence, has given us the grace to gather in sound health to witness this beautiful event.”
The tone quickly shifted to one of reverence as the president requested the gathering to rise and observe a moment of silence in honour of Otunba Bola Odebiyi, a founding father of the club and Chairman of the Board of Trustees until his recent passing. “May his gentle soul continue to rest in peace. Amen. I pray that we all live to a ripe age, Amen. Odun a jinna si ra oooo. Amin.”
Chief Dada, who becomes the 17th President of Epe Club, expressed profound gratitude to the club’s members for entrusting him and the new executive with the responsibility of steering the club forward. He praised the Electoral Committee for conducting a credible election in December 2024 and acknowledged the March 2025 swearing-in ceremony as a solemn yet hopeful moment for the incoming council. “Let me at this juncture express my profound gratitude… for the trust and confidence you have reposed in us to steer the ship and provide leadership for the Club,” he said. “We would strive to attain and actualize the aspirations of the Club during this administration.”
He didn’t leave out the behind-the-scenes heroes, commending the Planning Committee for their unwavering commitment to organizing a smooth, classy, and memorable inauguration ceremony.
In rallying support from club members, Chief Dada emphasized that leadership is not a solo journey, but a collective mission. He called on all members to lend their support, ideas, and energy toward the projects and programmes envisioned for the new term. “We cannot do it alone. We therefore solicit your valued contributions, support, and assistance as we together voyage on this new administrative tenure,” he appealed.
Chief Dada outlined a bold roadmap that includes: Growing club membership and strengthening internal unity; celebrating and supporting members through shared values; championing peace and community development in Epe Division; investing in youth empowerment and scholarship initiatives; advocating for government intervention on key local matters and completing the ongoing massive Club House project and enhancing the club’s facilities.
The atmosphere of celebration was elevated by the warmth of familiar faces, friends, associates, and well-wishers from near and far, whose presence added flair to the occasion.
“To all our friends, loved ones, and guests here today, I say a big thank you for sharing this joyous occasion with us. We appreciate you greatly for your love. Please, relax and experience the impeccable ambience and hospitable gesture of the Club.”
As guests mingled under the elegant canopy of Epe Club’s signature hospitality, one truth was evident: the heart of this prestigious club beats with unity, progress, and purpose. And with Chief Olayemi Dada at the helm, the future looks as bright as the legacy he now carries forward.
