It was a moment of pride and celebration in Epe as Rep. Wale Raji, Member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, commissioned 18 brand-new classrooms (6 at Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School and 12 with toilets at Anglican Primary School, Ebute Afuye) – two major projects that further underscore his commitment to grassroots education and community development.

kakalistiq.com reports that the high-profile commissioning was carried out by three respected community leaders – the Oloja of Epe Land, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun; the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, HRM Oba Dr. Shefiu Adewale; and Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu.

In his keynote speech, Rep. Raji attributed his success to the unwavering support of traditional and political leaders in Epe. “I am the sponsor of the project, there are facilitators. So, Surah, thank you very much,” he said, about the contribution of the Epe LG Chairman, who provided a functional water facility for the project.
He emphasized that the success of his infrastructural strides is the result of political will and legislative longevity. “Every first term of any office holder is for learning,” he stated, adding that his ability to deliver tangible results was enhanced by the benefits of ranking in the National Assembly.
“The school projects being commissioned are evidence of collaboration,” he noted. “Our Political leadership inspires me to ensure I deliver on the party’s mandate by facilitating projects that will be beneficial to the people.”
He also revealed plans for more developmental strides, including the upcoming Araromi market project, and the soon-to-be-commissioned Ayetoro, Pobo, and Mowowale markets. “The whole essence of this is to ensure that our people control our economy,” he said. “With these markets, we’ll give it free.”

Epe LG Chairman, Princess Olayemi Animashaun, in her address, described the event as historic:
“I want you all to know today, in the history of Epe LG, we have not experienced this… The light has come, and nothing can stop it, and no one can stop it.”
She added a call for reflection:
“If we know what’s good for Epe, let us go back and think because Epe is very much behind… we need to know what we’re doing.”

The Oloja of Epe, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, commended the lawmaker’s integrity and vision.
“Some sold it out and some gave their girlfriends, but you – I thank you very much,” he said pointedly, drawing applause from the crowd. “The development of this community is our priority, and we’ve sent you to represent us.”

Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, a GAC member, praised Rep. Raji’s performance, saying, “That’s why I love him. Kabiesi Oloja is so blunt that he would say it as it is, and if you’re not doing well, he won’t hide it.”

The Olu-Epe of Epe, represented by Chief Kadri Odedeogboro, also hailed the educational investment:
“They enhance the development of talents of our children… Hon. Wale Raji has brought this facility to our environment. So, I think he’s done a good job and God will continue to bless him.”

Dr. Hakeem Shittu, Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), represented by Hon. Babatunde Jimoh called the classroom blocks a legacy project that will stand the test of time.
“Epe is blessed because Alhaji Raji is writing history. He won’t be there forever, but he’s laying a solid foundation for Epe,” he said.
Across the board, the day was filled with gratitude, pride, and hopeful anticipation of more development to come. Rep. Raji, who has already facilitated over 150 classrooms across his constituency, is committed to ensuring that the future of Epe’s children remains bright and grounded in quality education.
